Aroma
In ancient times, jasmine was revered as a symbol of ethereal beauty and a refined, unworldly disposition. When jasmine blooms, no other flower’s scent can compare; thus, it came to be known as the “Heavenly Fragrance.” In summer, people would hang jasmine in their bed curtains and display it on tables—the delicate aroma would drift gracefully with one’s movement, evoking the sentiment that “a single bloom can infuse a room with fragrance, leaving one to feel as cool as jade even on the hottest day,” instantly dispelling the oppressive heat. Jasmine’s abundant and enchanting aroma not only provides relief from summer heat but has also long been cherished as a decorative accessory by women. In ancient times, women often pinned jasmine blossoms into their hairdos or strung them into delicate clusters to adorn their garments. As early as the Jin dynasty, the trend of “resting one’s head against a pillow with a jasmine flower pinned to the side” emerged, and by the Tang and Song dynasties, it was common to see women in Chang’an with jasmine elegantly arranged in their hair. This formula features small-flower jasmine as its primary note; in addition to the pure jasmine aroma, a subtle hint of tea fragrance adds a refreshing nuance, making it an accessible introductory scent.
